Spring 2008

Kiskeya Minerals Caribbean, Inc.

This job involved building a cabin and bridge on the rear deck of a 1967 all aluminum 75' x 20' landing craft.
The boat is to be used for a new marble and calcium carbonate quarry in Haiti.

The cabin, bridge and canopy were built at a marina on the Miami river near the Miami airport.
The multinational, multilingual crew was comprised of Americans, Haitians, Cubans and a Costa Rican.
The cargo (excavator, loader, sectional barge, 12' rock saw blade) was then loaded into the hold.

The craft was then driven down the Miami river, through the middle of downtown Miami.

It headed north through Biscayne Bay and up the intercoastal waterway.

It then headed up the New River through downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Finishing touches are done here while the craft awaits its trip to Haiti.

The cabin includes a kitchen and office, state room, and full size bathroom.

The new bridge includes updated technology controls and instruments.

The engine room also received upgrades to it's four Detroit diesel engines and controls.
